We stayed at Casa Salinas del Mar for 6 weeks during December2019 and January 2020. The location is fantastic, a few yards from the sea, with a large very private south-facing terrace which catches the sun from sunrise to sunset. Carina and Filip met us at the airport and helped with luggage and getting our hire car, which was very welcome, especially as we arrived on a late flight. Lanzarote is our favourite Canary Island and, of the 10 visits we've made, this one was by far the best accommodation. As estate agents say, the 3 most important things are location, location and location! There is a good size kitchen and lounge area. The main bedroom is also large, with a very large and comfortable double bed. Even if there are only two of you, the second bedroom is very useful for storage etc. There is a useful safe in the main bedroom. Although Los Cocoteros has no bar now, it's only a 5 minute drive (or 30 minute walk) to El Bulin bar in Guatiza, which is a very friendly place which does excellent cortados (espressos with a dash of milk). For walkers, there are numerous paths locally, including the coast path just by the accommodation. Also a lot of paths in the Mala and Charco del Palo regions. In fact, Lanzarote is a fantastic island for walkers, with paths everywhere and, of course, the GR131 path which crosses the whole island from Orzola in the northeast to Playa Blanca in the southwest. It's about 75 kilometres long, but quite feasible to do in sections. Even after all our visits, we are still finding new paths. We highly recommend this accommodation and the hosts, Carina and Filip are very friendly and helpful.
